Bahrain marks World Autism Awareness Day

Bahrain Austism Society organized the function, which was attended by

Undersecretary Sahar Rashid Al Mannai, Bahrain Autism Society chairman Zakariya Al Sayyed Hashem. The function is under the patronage of Social Development Minister Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor. Undersecretary Sahar Rashid Al Mannai addressed the event commended the efforts made by Bahrain Autism Society, as well as humanitarian initiatives in support of autistic people.

She stressed the Government’s commitment to continue implementing plans and programmes which are aimed to enhance awareness of autism spectrum disorder.

She said that enhancing awareness of autism spectrum disorder represents a collective responsibility and requires more governmental, community and family efforts to ensure the early detection of cases, in addition to adopting integrated programs and plans for treatment, rehabilitation and integration into society.
