
Mumtalakat and Tamkeen announce winners of 2025 Startup of the Year competition.

The second edition of Bahrain’s Startup of the Year awards ceremony was an elegant affair held at the Bahrain National Museum, featuring prominent senior officials and future entrepreneurs.
H.E. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and Chairman of Mumtalakat, attended the event alongside H.E. Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Mumtalakat, H.E. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, H.E. Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, and H.E. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, alongside several other key figures.
Before the ceremony began, H.E. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa took a tour of the different competition candidates, and he highlighted the crucial role of the private sector in driving economic growth and creating quality jobs for Bahrainis.
The occasion then started with a speech by H.E. Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, who shared his excitement for the two new winners and this year’s success. He told Radio Bahrain that any individual with an idea, who is determined and wants to change the world, that ‘Mumtalakat is here to listen and hopefully invest in their business’.
H.E. Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa also emphasized the sovereign wealth fund of Bahrain's commitment to investing in promising local startups that boost national growth and create quality jobs. Meanwhile, H.E. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, reaffirmed the fund’s dedication to supporting Bahraini entrepreneurs with tailored programs to help their ventures grow and thrive.
The winners, Procural—a cloud platform revolutionizing procurement—and Parcel, a local delivery service, will both receive direct investment to accelerate their growth, marking another step in Bahrain’s push to become a regional innovation hub.
